You know, when I first read this book I remember thinking how darn smart Asimov was. And I can still see that, but as I get older, it just feels like he rewrote the Roman Empire (which he is always telling people he did) with some math added. And not very good math at that. He keeps talking about how you can't predict the actions of one person anymore than you can predict the actions of one gas molecule and yet he keeps doing it. It's incredibly annoying. Then again maybe I was just mad because I figured out he's an exclamation mark addict like David Brin.
How did I miss writing a review of this one? Derek Landy kept me laughing out loud as usual. He includes a marvelous spouf on Twilight with this one, which puts this book at the top of the list for me. Skulduggery is as witty and wonderful as ever, but I continue to remind my daughter that Valkyrie Cain is marvelous, but the worst role model ever. As long as Anna understands that she should never follow Valkyrie's example, she is allowed to read Skulduggery.
